In Foreclosure, trying everything to save my home…

by Jarad 4 Comments

I have been posting this on any forum I could find today.I am not sure if this is the best place to look for help, but I am currently three months behind on my mortgage payments. My husband lost his job and we have been strapped ever since. Our mortgage company, countrywide is just out for blood, they don’t care that we can’t even afford to put food on the table. I am at the public library right now because I can’t afford the internet any more. We owe about 110,000 on our home, and we have considered selling our home…but I just can’t face telling the kids we have to move. I think we have some equity, a house just down the block sold a month ago for around 210,000. I am just so embarrassed about this whole thing…I just need some more time. I live in lakewood, CO and i need someone out there who understands all of this to help my family save our home.

    Very sorry for your situation…

    Here are some options.

    1. Re-Instate
    2. Re-Finance
    3. List with Realtor
    4. List it yourself
    5. Give it back to lender -(deed in lieu foreclosure)
    6. Sell to us (short sale)
    7. File bankruptcy
    8. Let it go

    Tammy,
I think you have some options. Refinancing might be one of them. There are lender that would not look at your credit score, as long as you have equity in your home, you can refinance with them for now to get out of the bad situation.

    TammyJoe,

Based on what you post says, we can get you financing. You would most likely have a higher interest rate, but it would be a new loan, so the payments should be less than what you are currently paying.

    Tammy,
I think it is more embarrassing for your children to be kicked out of a home when the bank sells it at an auction then for you to just put the home on the market and sell it. You don’t need to tell your children the entire story. Things happen in our lives as grown ups it is best we handle them without involving the children with every detail. Just tell them that a change is needed due to the circumstances.

Good Luck but sell it and spare the embarrassment of waiting for it to be sold in auction.
